  Assembly Dramas:They were so bad.... but.... you waited for them to break away from the monotony!

  you do remember the four day assemblies... sitting outdoors being fried in the sweltering heat,getting heat stroke in the middle of july in an outdoor baseball stadium.sitting outdoors from 9:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. was so much fun while you wore a suit,long sleeve shirt and a tie while your brain fried.

  mom's who had children to take care of,lug strollers,feed all the kids,take them for bathroom breaks and try to not faint from the heat.. the sound and audio was always breaking and barely audible from the wind,airplanes flying over and (if you attended the cicero,illinois circuit )you would smell horse manure from the horse stables next door.. you know that you are a jehovah's witness.... when the only excitement waiting for the drama... where brothers and sisters dress up in ancient cloths,fake beards,fake rocks and fake soldier uniforms and wave their hands incessantly to pretend that they are acting out a drama.the excitement was unbearable!.

  Bro with beard was encouraged to shave it off. Carrot held out to him was, "shave it off and be in drama." Part required stick on beard.

  i look at tv and the media as all fiction.. i wonder if the media is now just a tool to cauterise the brain and zombify us?

  i'm sure the uk's bbc does.

  it seems to be a tool to brainwash people to buy into latest agenda or trend that must be followed.....or you're an outcast like a disfellowshipped one.

  You might even imagine a pandemic had taken place but I never once heard an ambulance siren. Ok once or twice but generally, no. Very quiet.

  I suppose the definition of pandemic could have been changed, to mean...???????

  Adv adv adv - advertise, advertise, advertise. It's what PR is all about. Freud's nephew set up PR in 1920s. It was because the public were now literate and the world could not longer be run quite like the old boys club it used to be. Therefore consent had to be engineered. This was done using PR. Freud's ideas on sex and hysteria.

  Women don't smoke? No problem, put out a few images of glamourous lady whoever with a fag in her mouth and the troglodyte women will smoke like dragons.

  But of course nowadays you can't even call them women. That's the PR for you.

  Denomination means to give something a name. In this case various classes of Christians. But what is to be made of this verse?

  Sigmund Freud believed he was right. You challenge people like him and all they say is that you are suffering neurotic resistance and have not experienced the truth as they have.

  Was Sigmund Freud religious? Jung did not agree with him. They fell out but both identified as psychologists. L Ron Hubbard didn't like Freud's stuff. He came up with dianetics/Scientology.

  And what about Mesmer and his Animal Magnetism? Animal Magnetism and ideas about hysteria took over from exorcisms when the Catholic church lost its hold on the French after the Revolution.

  Watchtower isn't a religion it is a publishing house or media company. Even they say they are not a religion.

  As far as I understand, in USA, Christianity is not a religion. It is a way of life. I can't quite remember how it is defined but I think it is that fact that Jesus is the truth. Therefore truth cannot be a religion. And personally I don't think of Jesus as being 'religious'. I used to ask people on the min if they thought Jesus was religious. Generally people answered 'no'. In fact I don't remember anyone saying 'yes.'

  Key point about WT is that the published material is a double-cross, full of misleading info. Given that, I don't see how the corporation can be described as Christian. But this is true of other corporations that claim to be Christian.

  i'm not sure where this list came from.

  but do criticize it if you believe something is off-base.. why jws cannot deal with reality.

  the watchtower organization denies access to reality, substituting its own propaganda version instead.

  No 8 There are no "Good" people in any other religion. If they were good they'd join Jehovah's Witnesses.

  WT is able to deflect criticism from itself and onto others by pointing to the genuine faults in others as if WT hasn't got those same faults too! Its a clever trick. You can't imagine why the man who robbed the bank (so to speak) pointed to all the pick pockets and called them thieves.

  On the subject of needing to think things through yourself - yes it is vital. And if you look at how Jesus taught, he made his disciples ask questions. The Greek word for disciple is mathete. It is where we get out word 'maths' from. It means working things out. Passing info through your own mind.

  Certain parts of the Bible require considerable thought, like a treasure hunt. That is the very opposite of brain washing. You have to be prepared to do the searching and working out yourself, not depend on someone else to do it for you.
